Fire Country - Hidden Leaf Village The Fire Country is one of the largest and most powerful countries. Its hidden village, Konohagakure or the Hidden Leaf Village, is the home of many powerful shinobi. The Fire Country is appropriately oriented towards the element of fire, typically having very bright and warm weather. While not the largest country, it has the largest hidden village. Wind Country - Hidden Sand Village The Wind Country has a typically dry and windy climate, and is covered in large deserts as a result. Sandstorms are a common occurrence. The Land of Wind is home to Sunagakure or the Hidden Sand Village. It had been relatively uninvolved with politics until recent times, and even had a peace treaty signed with the Land of Fire. Water Country - Hidden Mist Village The Land of Water is composed of many islands, with each having its own unique traditions. The country's weather is typically cool with an abundance of mist. Some area are very cold and heavy snow in such places is commonplace. The Water Country refrains from being too involved in political affairs, its geographical location making communication difficult. Its hidden village is Kirigakure, the Village Hidden in the Mist. Earth Country - Hidden Rock Village The Earth Country is perhaps the least well-known of the five major nations. It is said to be covered in rocks and caves, with mountains acting as a natural border for the country that make communication with other countries difficult. The winds in this country are also particularly strong, picking up rocks as they go and dropping them upon buildings. Their hidden village is Iwagakure, the Village Hidden in the Rocks. Lightning Country - Hidden Cloud Village The Lightning Country has a powerful military presence, but little is known of its geographical features. It is one of the largest ninja countries in the world, but it only shares a border with one other country, the rest of its terrain leading onto the ocean and is marked by a long coastline.
